NEW YORK (AP) - ``Monday Night Football'' will be broadcast on a five-second delay for the rest of the season, a reaction to the furor caused by last season's Super Bowl halftime show.

The move is just a precaution, an ABC spokesman said.
At halftime of New England's win over Carolina in the Super Bowl on Feb. 3, Justin Timberlake ripped off part of Janet Jackson's brassiere, a wardrobe "malfunction" that exposed her right breast to a TV audience of some 90 million. The Super Bowl was broadcast on CBS.

A pregame concert before the season opener between New England on Indianapolis was broadcast with a 10-second delay on ABC to prevent a repeat of the Super Bowl embarrassment.

After the Super Bowl, the Federal Communications Commission received more than 500,000 complaints about the broadcast. The commission is reportedly considering a fine of $550,000 against CBS for violating broadcast decency standards.
